What is the process for Registrant verification?

When a new domain name is purchased,  an existing domain name is transferred or the Registrant Firstname, Lastname or Email address are modified on an existing domain name, as the domain name Registrar we are required to check to that the provided information. If the Registrant Firstname, Lastname and Email Address match an already validated set of Registrant contact data within the Synergy Wholesale System, there is no action taken and the registration will function as expected with instant validation.

If the Registrant Firstname, Lastname and Email Address have never been used together with the Synergy Wholesale System, then domain validation processes will be undertaken. An email will be dispatched to the Registrant Email Address asking them to click a link to confirm the Registrant data; once that’s completed, that’s it.

It is important to remember that ‘Joe Banks at mynameisjoe@gmail’ is different from ‘Joey Banks at mynameisjoe@gmail.com’ and as such, it would require two separate validations.

Registering a new domain name

Upon registration of a new domain name, if the proposed Registrant Firstname, Lastname and Email address do not match an existing set of Registrant contact data within the Synergy Wholesale System in their entirety, the verification process will begin.

The Registrant email address contact will receive, via email, a specially encoded link which must be clicked within 14 days to validate the Registrant contact data. If the link is not clicked within 14 days, the domain name is placed into a ClientHold and DNS resolution is ‘suspended’. Once the link is clicked to validate the contact, this ClientHold status is removed and regular DNS resolution is restored. Provided the link is clicked within 14 days of the verification process commencing, there will be no impact to your service. In the event the verification is not completed immediately, a reminder is sent after 7 and 13 days; followed by notification of domain suspension after 14 days.

If a new domain name registration is completed and the Registrant details match a previously verified set of contact details, then no further action is required.

Transferring in a domain name

When a domain name registration is transferred into Synergy Wholesale, it will be require to undertake the verification process if the Registrant contact details in their entirety have not previously been validated in our system. The Registrant email address contact will receive, via email, a specially encoded link which must be clicked within 14 days to validate the Registrant contact data. If the link is not clicked within 14 days, the domain name is placed into a ClientHold and DNS resolution is ‘suspended’. Once the link is clicked to validate the contact, this ClientHold status is removed and regular DNS resolution is restored. Provided the link is clicked within 14 days of the verification process commencing, there will be no impact to your service. In the event the verification is not completed immediately, a reminder is sent after 7 and 13 days; followed by notification of domain suspension after 14 days.

If the Registrant contact details on the transferred domain name registration match a previously verified set of contact details, then no further action is required.

Updating the contact details on an existing domain name

In the event the Registrant contact details on existing domain name registration are updated, it may be subject to the verification process.

If the new Registrant details on the domain name match a previously verified set of contact details, then no further action is required. If the contact details are new to our system, the Registrant email address contact will receive, via email, a specially encoded link which must be clicked within 14 days to validate the Registrant contact data. If the link is not clicked within 14 days, the domain name is placed into a ClientHold and DNS resolution is ‘suspended’. Once the link is clicked to validate the contact, this ClientHold status is removed and regular DNS resolution is restored. Provided the link is clicked within 14 days of the verification process commencing, there will be no impact to your service. In the event the verification is not completed immediately, a reminder is sent after 7 and 13 days; followed by notification of domain suspension after 14 days.
