How do I create a Parked Domain in cPanel?
A parked domain allows you to point a domain name at the content of your primary domain name; this is useful where it’s supposed to show the same website or you just wish to temporarily point it to a website. Parked domains aren’t designed to show their own unique content, but simply draw content from another domain name hosted from your service. To create a parked domain follow these steps:
- Login to cPanel.
- Click the Domains icon (Under the Domains category).
- Click “Create A New Domain” button.
- Ensure the Document Root option for “Share document root” is checked (It should be checked by default).
- Click Submit.
It can take a moment to create a new domain. This occurs on accounts with a large number of domains.
In order to have the parked domain operational you will need to have it registered and pointed to your Synergy Wholesale cPanel web hosting nameservers. Once the parked domain is setup and pointed to the hosting servers, it may take up to 24 hours to come online.
If you wish to have the domain show it’s own unique content, you will need to uncheck the “Share document root” option while creating this new domain.
That is behaviour of an “Addon Domain” which you can learn more about here.
