Problems sending email to Hotmail addresses

Fix email delivery issues with Hotmail, Outlook, or Yahoo

If outbound mail from your hosting services isn't reaching Microsoft (Hotmail, Outlook.com, Live.com) or Yahoo recipients, our mail servers may be temporarily blocklisted by that provider.

Why this happens

Large email providers use automated reputation systems that can blocklist legitimate mail servers when:
  • Recipients mark emails as spam
  • A shared server triggers spam filters
  • Forwarded emails are flagged by the receiving provider
This affects hosting providers industry-wide. When it occurs, it typically impacts a small number of services for a short period.

What we do

We monitor our mail infrastructure for blocklisting events and work to resolve them promptly. Most issues clear within a few hours.

Reporting an issue

If your customers are experiencing delivery failures to a specific provider, open a support ticket through the Synergy Wholesale management system with:
  • Sender address
  • Recipient address
  • Date and time of the failed delivery
  • Any bounce-back or error messages
