CloudLinux is an operating system that is designed to improve server stability, density, and security by isolating each user in their own Lightweight Virtual Environment (LVE) and Virtual File System using CageFS. This prevents any single user from consuming excessive resources and affecting the performance of other users on the same server.
CloudLinux also includes a range of features such as:
Resource limits (CPU, Memory, I/O)
PHP Selector (Drop in replacement for MultiPHP Selector)
MySQL Governor
Mod_lsapi
Node Selector
Ruby Selector
Python Selector
It’s all brought together into a graphical user interface within cPanel/WHM for easy use.
What is KernelCare?
KernelCare (bundled with CloudLinux) is a service that provides automatic, live kernel patching for Linux servers. This means that security patches and updates can be applied to the kernel without the need for a reboot, ensuring that your server remains secure and up-to-date with little to no downtime.
KernelCare works by applying patches to the running kernel in memory, allowing you to keep your server secure without interrupting your services. This is a must have for servers where uptime is critical.
