WHM - Logging into WHM

This guide will go over how to log in to WHM (Web Host Manager) and provide some tips for first-time users.

Accessing WHM

To access WHM, the easiest way is through your Synergy Wholesale account:
  1. Log in to your Synergy Wholesale account.
  2. Navigate to "VPS hosting" section and click on "Manage"
  3. Click on the VPS you would like to log in to and click on "Service Details"
  4. From there, you will see your WHM login details, including the URL, username, and password.
  5. Click on the WHM URL to be taken to the WHM login page.
  6. Enter your username and password to log in.
Typically, the WHM URL will be in the format: https://your-server-ip:2087 or https://your-vps-hostname.com:2087. For Self Managed VPS users, accessing WHM using the server's hostname will require you to:
  • Set your VPS Hostname.
  • Create an A record for your VPS Hostname that points to your Server's IP address.
  • Wait for DNS propagation to complete (this can take up to 24-48 hours).
  • Run the cPanel update (upcp) script or the checkallsslcerts script to issue an SSL certificate for your VPS Hostname as well as any service subdomains.
For Fully Managed VPS users, our support team sets this up for you; however, if it isn't working as expected, let us know, and we can assist you with these steps if needed. Once you have completed these steps, you should be able to access WHM securely using your VPS Hostname.

First Time Login Tips

When you log in to WHM for the first time, you may be prompted to complete the initial setup wizard. Here are some tips to help you get started:
  • Review cPanel & WHM Legal Agreements: Make sure to read and accept the terms of service if prompted.
  • Set your contact information: You can enter an email account here for any notifications about your server, including alerts.
  • Configure nameservers: If you plan to use your VPS as a Nameserver as well, enter the nameservers you would like to use.
Once you have completed the initial setup, you can take some time to explore the WHM interface and familiarise yourself with its features! We have a few "getting started" guides with WHM, if you would like to check out our recommendations on what to do next: If you need help with any specific tasks or configurations, feel free to refer to the official WHM documentation or reach out to our fully local Technical Support Team at any time for assistance.
