Prepopulating DNS Records

Synergy Wholesale now provides a feature that allows you to prepopulate DNS records on our DNS hosting service for inbound transferring domains! This can be particularly useful for setting up an existing DNS zone from another provider with us before the transfer is completed, which will automatically update the nameservers and set the DNS records once the transfer is completed, avoiding potential downtime. Please Note: This feature is only available for domains being transferred into Synergy Wholesale and not for existing domain registrations with Synergy Wholesale.

How does it work?

You can prepopulate DNS records for a domain that is already in the process of being transferred using the following steps:
  1. Log in to your
  2. Navigate to Domain Names -> Inbound Transfers.
  3. Click on a domain name for which you wish to prepopulate DNS records for.
  4. Click on Nameservers & DNS
    Inbound Transfer DNS
  5. From here, select DNS Hosting or URL & Email Forwarding and click Update.
  6. You will be greeted with a DNS records page, this is where you can add your DNS records.
Much like using our DNS Hosting service, you can add in A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV and ALIAS DNS records and/or use our DNS Presets to quickly add common DNS records that you would like to prepopulate.

CSV Import

If you have a large number of DNS records to add, you can use the CSV Import feature to bulk upload DNS records. This can be done by clicking on the Import DNS Records button at the top of the DNS Records section. DNS Import CSV This will prompt you to upload a CSV file containing the DNS records you wish to add. The CSV file should be formatted as follows: Example CSV Format:
hostname,ttl,type,content,priority
swguides.au,3600,A,127.0.0.1
swguides.au,3600,SRV,"10 3600 another-example.com",10
swguides.au,3600,CAA,"0 issuewild 127.0.0.1"
swguides.au,3600,MX,mail.anotherdomain.com,10
After adding your required DNS records, you're all set! Once the transfer is completed, the nameservers will automatically switch to Synergy Wholesale DNS Hosting, and all the DNS records you just set up will be applied to your domain immediately.
