Corrections on Domains registered to a Partnership

Why do I need to perform a correction to my Domain registered to a Partnership?

auDA changed its policy in 2021 to require a Partnership ABN to nominate one of the partners as the sole Registrant on a Domain name. Failure to update your Registrant details may result in the suspension or deletion of your Domain if not resolved before renewing your Domain.

How can I resolve this?

My Domain has less than 90 days until expiry:
An email will automatically be sent to the Registrant asking them to nominate a partner as the sole Registrant. Once manually initiated, the status of the Registrant correction can be checked through the 'Initiate CoR' button in the Synergy Wholesale Management System. The correction will automatically occur once those details are provided; no further action will be required.
My Domain has more than 90 days until expiry:
If the domain has an 'invalid AU eligibility' flag and is eligible for a correction, partners can initiate one by clicking the 'Initiate CoR' button and then selecting "Start Registrant Correction." This will email the Registrant asking them to nominate a partner as the sole Registrant. Once manually initiated, the status of the Registrant Correction can be checked through the 'Initiate CoR' option. The correction will automatically occur once those details are provided; no further action will be required.

Can I customise or disable the new Registrant correction emails?

Synergy Wholesale has added two new default email templates to assist with Registrant correction notices:
  • Invalid .au Eligibility - Partnership
  • Invalid .au Eligibility - Trust
These templates include a new merge field: {{registrant_correction_link}}, which generates a secure link for the Registrant to submit updated information directly. If you do not wish to use this new tool, you can simply remove the {{registrant_correction_link}} merge field from the email template content. We recommend reviewing and customising the new default email templates now available in your Synergy Wholesale account to ensure they align with your preferred messaging.
