What if it's the Registrant for All Domains Listed Contesting a .au Direct Domain Application?
The Priority Category assigned to the domains listed on the Priority Status Tool for the involved .au direct domain name will influence what needs to happen to have this resolved, as well as how you should make your direct .au application.
Essentially if the registrant has domains all in one particular category, you’ll want to follow the sections below. Where they have some in both categories, however, you should only make an application using the Priority Category 1 domains, as they have preference over Priority Category 2.
For registrants with eligibility status all in Priority Category 1
If you are the registrant for all the eligible Priority Category 1 domain names, the best action would be to submit a .au direct priority application with one of your Category 1 eligible domain names, and then submit a “decline to apply” on the remaining names. Ideally, you would apply on your oldest, highest priority category domain (use the Priority Status Tool to check).
If all other applicants decline to apply and you have the last remaining Priority Category 1 application, the domain will be awarded to you within 24 hours.
For registrants with eligibility status all in Priority Category 2
If you have a contested domain where the registrants have all domains under Priority Category 2, and no one is an eligible Priority Category 1 applicant, the best action would be to submit a priority application with your oldest registered .au domain name. You will not need to “decline to apply” on the remaining domains, as your oldest registered domain will take priority and be awarded the domain once your direct .au application is made.
Any Priority Category 1 applicant will be awarded the domain above any Priority Category 2 applicant.
