All of our hosting plan backups are taken automatically by an application named Acronis. Even though this is in place, we still strongly recommend that all Partners take and store their own backups on a remote host or local computer.
This guide applies to any hosting accounts on our newer hosting plans and servers ONLY. If the desired service is still on an EW/BW plan this guide is not applicable and you'll need to utilize a personal backup or contact support to potentially use our DRP backups for a fee.
If you're using a Business cPanel web hosting service, where Litespeed Web Server is in use, you may experience issues in using your web based backup scripts whereby the script will time-out before the backup can be completed and transferred. This can include wpbackup, Backup Buddy and other such 3rd party backup tools being used to generate and shift backups to offsite locations such as Dropbox or Amazon.
Taking a backup of cPanel hosting services periodically is an excellent idea and it covers you in the unlikely event of data loss. Taking a backup is a very easy process which provides peace of mind.
There are three options for restoring cPanel backups. Generating and restoring a home directory backup Within cPanel you have the option to go to the Backup icon where you may generate a copy of the home directory.
